Tech Executives Criticize New Zealand Government’s $315,000 Grant To Bitcoin Startup: Tech executives in New Zealand have risen up against the decision of the government to make a NZ$315,000 grant to Vimba.
According to the chief digital officer of cybersecurity firm Kordia, Aaron Olphert, the grant would not have a significant impact on the domestic economy as the startup only has a minimal presence. This is because startup, Vimba, is looking to expand its horizon beyond the shores of New Zealand abroad thereby contributing taxes and jobs to other countries.
